About me

I am currently in my fourth year of the Recreation and Health Education program in the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education at the University of Victoria. I chose this program because of my strong passion for fitness, sport, and personal well being.

I grew up in the small coastal town of Gibsons, where over the years I had an array of positive experiences in both sport and outdoor recreation. My love for sport stems from playing volleyball, soccer, and softball throughout my life. Additionally, my passion for recreation comes from growing up in a unique town where I had easy access to the ocean and forest.

I strongly believe that exercise and recreation play key roles in one's health, and that people can reach their personal potential through positive recreation experiences.

Hobbies

Activities I enjoy include playing recreational sports, doing artwork, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Through these hobbies I find I can lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle that I am very satisfied with.

Growing up I played numerous sports, at varying levels of competition including softball, soccer, and volleyball. I continue to play intramural volleyball and soccer. Throughout my life I have been very passionate about art. I especially enjoy drawing greeting cards and doing printmaking. I also like to express myself through cooking by trying new recipes and experimenting with different dishes. Lastly, I love spending time socializing with my friends and family.

Future Endeavors

In the Fall of 2019, I aspire to enter a masters degree program in Physical Therapy. During the Fall of 2018. I plan to submit a strong and well-rounded application to multiple schools across Canada. Currently, I am gaining valuable volunteer experience and I am working extremely hard at school.

Upon my graduation in the Spring of 2019, I hope to travel Europe over summer with some close friends and to spend some time celebrating my graduation through recreation and relaxation.
